Course Description
English II is a required course for all 10th graders as part of the interdisciplinary course, Humanities Core. The Humanities core is an interdisciplinary class, which combines both English and World History, to help students think about ideas more critically and deeply. In each unit, the English and history curriculum revolve around an open-ended research question. At the end of the unit, students will develop an articulate response to the research question through projects and essays. Students will be working on their college readiness skills in terms of thinking and also continue to refine their reading, writing, and listening and speaking skills.
Please note: Unit 1 and Unit 2 are current for the Fall 2007 school year. Any disparity or lack of continuity between Unit 2 and Unit 3 is due to the fact that Unit 3 is currently being taught and revised. All units will be fully updated based on the most recent revisions by August 2008.
